Angelina Jolie had the support of daughter Vivienne while making a rare public appearance to chat about her Broadway musical on the Today show this morning.
“This is about family, and it’s about community,” Jolie said of The Outsiders, the show she is producing with the help of 15-year-old Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, who is working as a production assistant.
“It doesn’t stay away from the darker sides of life and the lot that we have to discuss and the lot that we’re feeling,” the Academy Award winner continued. “But in the end, it’s what gets us through, and that is family.”
Jolie looked chic in her usual monochrome, opting for a belted black maxi dress, long black coat, and black pumps. She accessorized only with black-rimmed glasses and minimal gold and diamond jewelry. As for her daughter, the teen kept it casual in a beige T-shirt, loose light-wash jeans, and a blue hoodie. Vivienne was seen smiling shyly from the audience outside Rockefeller Center as her mom spoke to host Hoda Kotb on camera.
Last month, Jolie and Vivienne attended opening night of The Outsiders at New York City’s Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. The actor embodied Old Hollywood glamour in a burnt-orange cape, which she layered over a silky gold dress. She stuck with warm tones for her ensemble with a pair of strappy merlot-red peep-toe heels and sculptural gold earrings. Vivienne embraced the workwear trend in a dark gray boilersuit and light gray Converse sneakers. Brother Pax Jolie-Pitt, 20, who accompanied his mother and sister, looked cool in a black blazer with a velvet collar, a white T-shirt, black slacks, and white Converse sneakers.
