Lando Norris and Max Verstappen‘s collision received several opinions from both sides. Multiple people believed the collision was a racing incident and the penalty wasn’t necessary. However, some people claimed Verstappen’s racing style was too hard and unjust. Regardless, Christian Horner sided with the Red Bull star as he has further laid out some stern words for Norris.

Lando Norris took the collision with Max Verstappen too personally and claimed that the friendship between the two was at stake. Verstappen refused to take blame for the incident despite Norris claiming that the Dutchman ‘destroyed’ the former’s car. Regardless, Christian Horner noted that the penalty to the world champion was ‘unnecessary’.

Christian Horner once again sided with Verstappen after the collision. Horner reckoned his driver was not going to change his racing style. Additionally, the Red Bull boss labeled the 26-year-old as a ‘tough racer’. Subsequently, the Briton mentioned that there was an element that Norris needed to learn about racing against the reigning world champion.

I don't think there's any issue from Max's side. He's not gonna change, he's a tough racer. If you've raced Max Verstappen... and there's an element of Lando learning how to race Max. And I think they're just discovering that.

Christian Horner told Sky Sports.

Christian Horner expects ‘more close racing’ between Lando Norris and Max Verstappen

Red Bull had started the 2024 season off in a great fashion. However, multiple issues caused the Austrian constructor to massively lose out on performance. As a result, McLaren and Lando Norris came extremely close to replicating Verstappen’s pace in the season. Hence, Horner further mentioned that such moments were bound to happen again.

Christian Horner claimed that ‘more close racing’ between the two drivers was ‘inevitable’. The main reason for this was that the cars were extremely close to each other in terms of performance. This meant that both the drivers needed to be prepared for some hard racing in the 2024 season.

Inevtiably, there's going to be more close racing between the two of them... umm as the cars are too close...

Christian Horner added.

The ongoing campaign is definitely going to put up great racing action and excitement for the fans. Red Bull has continued to score impressive results despite facing multiple struggles. Max Verstappen was on the pace to score the Austrian GP victory if it weren’t for the collision between him and Norris towards the end.
