Fans expressed their shock and concern after The Kardashians teased an unlikely meet-up between Kim Kardashian and Gypsy Rose Blanchard.

The Disney Plus reality series following the lives of the Kardashian-Jenner clan premiered the first episode of season five today – but one moment left everyone confused.

At the beginning of the episode, viewers were treated to a sneak peek of what to expect from the upcoming season of high-drama as Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Kylie navigate a new phase of their lives.

At one point, Kim arrives at a hotel and knocks on the door to reveal recently-released prisoner Gypsy Rose. Yes, really.

The pair greet each other but that’s all that is shown of the meeting between the two media personalities.

Gypsy Rose shared the clip with her TikTok followers with the caption: ‘Surprise!This was such an honor to talk about prison reform with Kim K. She is a lovely person.’

The ex-convict turned influencer, 32, rose to notoriety after serving eight years of a 10-year sentence for helping to murder her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, in 2015 who spent years abusing her daughter and falsely convincing her she was dangerously sick.

After leaving prison in December, Gypsy Rose embarked on a press tour to talk about her experiences and her plans for the future.

Alongside doing the media rounds, Gypsy also cultivated a huge following on social media with over 9.8 million followers on TikTok and counting where she documents her everyday life.

Now she is pivoting to reality TV with this impending cameo in The Kardashians – although not everyone is impressed by the strange collaboration.

‘This makes me really uncomfortable,’ @dresdendoll commented on X.

‘This one weirdly doesn’t sit well with me. Get those demons away from her,’ @eyeamwema echoed.

‘The Kardashification of Gypsy was NOT on my 2024 bingo card,’ @arianaunext wrote.

Gypsy Rose has been on Kim’s radar after she included a 2017 documentary about her life, Mommy Dead and Dearest, on a list of must-watch crime shows.

At the time Gypsy Rose replied saying: ‘Maybe we should unite forces together to make real change within the justice system.’

Kim has been studying law for over five years and passed her baby bar in 2021 with the hopes of one day qualifying to be a lawyer.
