Brad Pitt’s big win: How Angelna Jolie’s custody bid backfired

He’s renowned for his iconic roles such as Tyler Durden in Fight Club or as Achilles in Troy.

But Hollywood heavyweight Brad Pitt is about to face his biggest fight yet.

The battle to win custody of his six children. Pitt, who shares Maddox, 17, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and 10-year-olds Vivienne and Knox, with estranged wife Angelina Jolie, has had a rough few years since the couple split in 2016.

“She’s fought him tooth and nail,” a family friend tells In Touch Weekly. Sources have revealed that Jolie dragged her ex to court in a bid to paint him in a negative light and keep him away from the children.

Legal documents obtained by WHO reveal that the pair asked to extend the current temporary judge on their case – Judge John Ouderkirk – until June 30, 2019.

Although the documents say a “trial on the bifurcated issue of custody is to begin on Dec. 4,” multiple sources tell WHO both sides are working towards an out-of-court settlement to arrange custody of their children without going to trial.

“But it’s not looking good because of Angelina’s stance on getting primary physical custody,” the source says.

Even still, it appears the Jolie-Pitt children may have chosen a side, with the insider revealing that they want to reside with their father.

“Thankfully the kids’ testimony about Brad will weigh heavily in the judge’s decision to give Brad custody,” the source says.

The saga began when Jolie first separated from her husband on Sept. 15, 2016. The Oscar- winner filed for divorce from Pitt on Sept. 19 that year, citing irreconcilable differences.

“Angelina Jolie-Pitt has filed for dissolution of the marriage. This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting at this time, and asks that the family be given their privacy during this difficult time,” Jolie’s lawyer told WHO at the time.

In a statement to WHO, Pitt responded, “I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the wellbeing of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”
