It’s no secret that Angelina Jolie is a proud human rights activist, but in between making Hollywood blockbusters the actress lends her support to to several charities and ensures her children are involved in the honourable work, too.

This July, Jolie and her daughter Shiloh, 11, travelled to Namibia to open the Shiloh Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary, which cares for elephants and rhinos that have fallen victim to poaching or abuse, is located at the N/a’an ku sê Foundation in the African country. This was particularly special as Shiloh was born in the country.

And in February, Jolie and her entire family attended the world premiere of First They Killed My Father in Siem Reap.

The country’s King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk attended the premiere and stopped to take a snap alongside with the royal family at the premiere.

Jolie’s sons Maddox – who was born in Cambodia – and Pax both undertook some parts in the film, which the director chose to strictly include only local actors.

While the screening was on, Maddox addressed the crowd of Hollywood stars and local dignitaries. “Thank you everyone for attending tonight. We finally made it. It’s a great honour to present this film to all of you, and to stand by my mother and my family,” he said at the time.

And in 2015, Jolie and son Pax, now 13, visited the Jan Mai Kaung refugee facility in Myanmar with UNHCR.

According to PEOPLE, the mother and son duo’s trip served for Jolie to learn more about the country’s situation in her capacity as both the co-founder of the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative, and as a special envoy.
